Frictionless UX a fresh UI and more clarity for

 belgium’s second largest radio station

Voting and charts are the showpieces of many radio stations. But you need listeners who vote for that. Qmusic (DPG Media) wanted to reinvent its voting module to engage fans more closely and improve listening time and quality.

Problem

How can we boost engagement with our games and hitlists by redoing our voting tool?

Process

With the fast turnaround time in our minds, insights from the exploratory phase were tested against the rules of behavioral design (“how can we guide the user?”), after which the user flows were mapped out.

Wireframes and visualizations allowed for rapid testing and refinement.

01 Research and interviews

General exploration of current development and testing by ourselves combined with user interviews.

02 flow mapping

We mapped the existing userflow and where there were different painpoints and confusing interactions.

This way we knew where to start and what was already working.

03 Wireframing

When the research phase was completed we started by wireframing our solutions so we could easily start user testing our solutions.

04 Final designs

After testing the userframes we implemented these structures into designs and development.

Results
Engagement in the app skyrocketed.

248%
Increased engagement for one of the most popular hitlists

160% Increased engagement for the summer playlist
